Employment-Focused Vocational Program

The purpose of Center Based Employment is to provide specialized supported employment for developing skills, abilities, and behaviors, which will allow people with disabilities to fully realize their vocational aspirations. This employment opportunity includes assembly, kitting, mass mail/collating, production/manufacturing, packaging, and fulfillment.

Center-Based Employment (CBE) at Beacon Group is now part of the WOLVES (Work. Options. Learning. Value. Empowerment. Skills.) Community Program. WOLVES is a new employment-focused vocational program that meshes the desire to work with employment training, volunteering, and other vocational activities for people with disabilities.

WOLVES features a semi-customizable program that revolves around CBE opportunities and growth. Beacon’s traditional CBE program has a been a cornerstone of opportunity for people with disabilities for decades in Southern Arizona. WOLVES will continue that tradition with higher wages and a new training curriculum.

Individuals who choose this program will work a minimum of 4.5 hours a week in CBE and experience WOLVES programming when not at work. WOLVES/CBE workers will receive training and encouragement towards progressively more independent work in more integrated employment settings, including Group and Individual Supported Employment opportunities with Beacon Group. The program is flexible and offers other supported and customized employment opportunities when individuals aren’t working in CBE. All work, training, and WOLVES programming is supervised by Beacon Job Coaches and Vocational Technicians.
